NO SuSPENSION
   Student is exonerated

SuSPENSION APPEALS
Written notice of suspension issued
Parent/guardian has 10 school days from start of suspension to file a notice of intent to appeal.
Determine alternative to suspension (progressive
discipline approach)
Assign student to alternative program
        APPEALS PHASE
Board must hold hearing and make decision within 15 school days. Student can attend and make statement.
Board will:
• Confirm suspension
• Confirm but shorten suspension, or • Quash and expunge record
